This Man Could Have Been President

McCain “Monkey” Tweet

Just in case I was wondering if I should have voted for Obama in the last two elections, John McCain has spoken up and removed all doubt that I made the correct decision. Using Twitter as a medium for his bottomless ignorance and complete lack of diplomacy, he calls Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a “monkey”… ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? This man was going to lead the largest and most influential free nation on the planet, a nation that has been engaged in very tenuous diplomatic relations with Iran for the better part of a decade, and he has to make an incredibly disrespectful comment about the president of Iran and then try to play it off as a joke.

I implore you to read the full article and analysis from Ars Technica. Even if McCain was not a major political figure in the his comments would be completely unacceptable. In 2013 I would like to believe that we are past calling other cultures by racist nicknames, and other derogatory terms… Please put your thoughts in the comments.

Diplomacy 101. Any political figure of a country, president or not must understand that these kinds of insults (or any insults, c´mon people lets be grown ups!) to country leaders or any other political leader is a no-no. The man is representing his party! Imagine if he was representing the country! Peace is clearly not on this guy´s agenda.

I can only imagine the absolute outrage from a tweet like this coming from the President of the United States. If you are a major political figure where all of your written and spoken opinions are a matter of public record you may want to hire a PR firm to manage your social networking accounts to censor your outbursts of idiocy. McCain in all his wisdom still refuses to issue an apology.
